Joseph T. Horras - Attorney at Law and trial lawyer with offices based in Boise, Idaho.

Mr. Horras was born in Great Falls, Montana, but moved to Boise, Idaho shortly thereafter. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary and Bishop Kelly High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1999 from the University of Idaho. Additionally, he attended a semester abroad in pursuit of his undergraduate degree at Napier University of Edindurgh, Scotland. Mr. Horras obtained his law degree from the University of Idaho in 2004 and was admitted to the Idaho State Bar that same year.

During law school Mr. Horras completed an externship with the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and subsequently represented needy clients in a wide variety of cases through the University of Idaho General Clinic. Upon admission to Idaho State Bar, he accepted a position with the Elmore County Public Defender’s Office. Mr. Horras entered private practice in the Fall of 2005 accepting a position with a Boise firm specializing in defense of law enforcement, administrative law, personal injury, worker’s compensation and civil litigation. In March of 2009 Mr. Horras joined Smith Horras, P.A. as a Shareholder.

Mr. Horras is admitted to practice and represents clients in Idaho State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Horras has been a member of Federal District of Idaho Southern CJA Panel since 2010.

Mr. Horras is committed to providing the highest quality of representation to the individual where the opposition relies on favorable legislation and is armed with superior financial and legal resources. To this end his specialties include criminal defense, personal injury, worker’s compensation, employment discrimination and wrongful termination cases. He is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mr. Horras enjoys jogging, college football and the Idaho outdoors as well as spending time with his wife, Danielle, sons, Maxwell and Dawson, and dog, Hazel.
